Concepts From Launching The Imagination: Tension & Torsion By: Denise Tello

Tension can actualize a structure by bending or stretching a certain object in order to pertain a specific shape.
Torsion forms a twisting movement that casts physical strength to the sculpture as well as provides the content to the artwork.

Tent

Tension is accomplished through the bending of the metal rods to form the design of this structure.

Spring
Torsion is accomplished when the spring is twisted several times in a circular motion and greater strength is delivered.
