Project 5: Plastic Chair Group 7 (Margaux, Reg & Julia)

Group 7 (Margaux, Reg & Julia)

When we started our design we knew that we wanted to use a triangle not only for its secure shape but also because there are only 3 sides we would save a lot more plastic and it can be used else wear on the chair. We were all adamant on not to use connectors or fasteners of any sort because it would be a challenge we knew we could take on. We looked at various chairs for a guide of how things were connected and built. We came to the conclusion that we should score the panels and have it foldable so that flat packaging would be an option.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAD A CARDBOARD MOCK UP FOR THIS PROJECT BUT IT WAS THROWN OUT FROM THE WOOD SHOP FOR WHATEVER REASON BEFORE THE "THROW OUT" DATE OF DEC 11. WE EVEN HAD OUR NAMES ON IT. IT WAS A FULL SIZED MOCK UP AS WELL.

THE CHAIR IN THE BOX FLAT PACKAGED

2 WAYS TO PUT THIS CHAIR TOGETHER

NUMBER 1

Roll the first one then the 2nd one over it

This is how it looks when you're done

NUMBER 2

Roll them up first

Then slot the smaller one into the bigger one

Take this piece and slot it over the base to keep it secure and from unraveling

Take the seat and slot the prongs in at the back. Then put the seat over the flat part of the back and slot in accordingly.

This is how it looks when it's done

When completed this is how it looks
